Love Letter: The sneaky red flag you’re missing (2/8/23)
It’s the month of Love! The time where we either are neutral about Valentines Day or have very big feelings about it 😉
Wherever you are and however you’re feeling about this day, I hope you access the love that lives within your heart and are fearlessly sharing with the people you love how much they mean to you.
If you’re dating right now, this week’s Love Letter is for you.
I have heard from so many women lately who are obsessively looking for red flags. It makes sense, when you’re healing from toxic relationships to want to protect yourself and it make the same mistake again. However, we won’t make the same mistakes when we are paying more attention to OURSELVES than obsessing about the other person.
Your midweek mantra is, “I deserve to feel safe and relaxed in all my relationships. I have nothing to prove.”✨
The hyper-focus on “spotting red flags” keeps people from trusting themselves, asking hard questions, and keeping people from feeling empowered around dating.
The gift of personal development is self-awareness. Then the responsibility is acting in alignment WITH our awareness and our truth.
How do you feel when you’re dating someone?
Do you feel safe and secure, or do you feel anxious no matter what?
Do you feel better about yourself or worse?
In my Homecoming program, I identify four blocks to authenticity:
❌ people pleasing
❌ performing
❌ perfectionism
❌ proving
So long as you are engaged in any of these behaviors, you won’t find the intimacy you crave.
So let the first red flag be – if you’re dating someone and you feel like you have to prove your worth to them, chase them, pretend to be someone you’re not, or never offer your true thoughts or opinions, they aren’t right for you.
The paradox is ONLY when you offer your thoughts, feelings, opinions, and authentic self can you even find the right person for you.
Homecoming is the first place to start healing those abandonment fears and dysfunctional patterns to be prepared for healthy love. If you’re curious if this program is right for you, reply to this email – I’m happy to answer any questions you may have!
